Pale Reverie is a darkly romantic marching band production that blurs the line between dream and nightmare. Drawing inspiration from the sweeping intensity of Shostakovich, the haunting lyricism of Love Song for a Vampire, and the gothic tragedy of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and Dracula Untold, the show explores the fragile beauty of something brought to life — and the consequences that follow.
Through four movements — The Dream Ignites, Creation, The Pale Heart, and A Reverie in Ruin — the production unfolds like a moonlit vision: elegant, mysterious, and increasingly unstable. Pale light, romantic imagery, and dramatic musical contrasts create a world where beauty and terror coexist, leading the audience into a final dreamscape of collapse, passion, and ruin.
I -The Dream Ignites
II - In Fevered Pursuit
III - The Pale Heart
IV - A Reverie in Ruin
Note Regarding Percussion Parts/Sounds
Most percussion sounds in my marching shows are meant to represent “percussion goes here” - I’m not a marching percussion writer…they are just a sketch.
I will work with your percussion arranger or help you find one!
